Barton's Marshburn Named Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Player of the Week
HIGH POINT, N.C. – Barton College outside hitter Hayley Marshburn has been named Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played during the week of Oct. 10-16, the Conference announced today.
Marshburn, a sophomore from Henderson, N.C., kept the Bulldogs atop the Conference Carolinas standings after leading them to a 3-0 week. She would put away 35 kills for a 3.18 kills per set average and added 22 digs to her weekly totals.
In a 3-2 victory over King, Marshburn would tally 13 kills and seven digs. She would follow up her performance with an identical 13-kill and seven-dig match in a 3-0 win over Lees-McRae. The outside hitter would finish the week with nine kills and eight digs in a 3-0 win in a non-conference tilt with Winston-Salem State.
Marshburn ranks first in Conference Carolinas in total kills (275) and total points (304), while ranking third in kills per set (3.72) and fourth in points per set (4.1).
