Limestone's O'Connor Named Conference Carolinas Women's Soccer Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Limestone College forward Megan O'Connor has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Soccer Player of the Week for matches played Oct. 17-17, the Conference announced today.

A sophomore sensation from Mt. Pleasant, S.C., O'Connor has continued her impressive campaign by nabbing a second straight Player of the Week honor. The striker scored three goals, adding two more game-winners to her Division II-leading total (8), while also netting the fastest goal in Limestone College history and 11th-fastest in Division II history.

O'Connor would lead the No. 18 Saints to a share of their first Conference Carolinas regular season title after netting a goal in the team's 3-0 win over Emmanuel. In a 3-0 win over Chowan, O'Connor made a little Limestone history, finding the back of the net just 14 seconds into the contest. She would add an insurance goal later in the match.

O'Connor ranks first in Conference Carolinas in points (33), goals (16) and game-winning goals (8).

Also nominated for Women's Soccer Player of the Week: Nicole Ferren (Belmont Abbey), Hailey Havelind (Pfeiffer), Paula Doran (King) & Lily Troyano (Southern Wesleyan)
