No. 1 Seed Barton Wins 2016 Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Championship

HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Barton College Bulldogs knocked off two-time defending champion Erskine College to win the 2016 Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Championship on Sunday (Nov. 13) afternoon. Barton moves to 22-6 overall, while the Fleet drops to 19-10 on the year.

The Bulldogs would take the match in a clean sweep, 3-0, with set scores of 25-16, 25-20, 27-25. Barton's win earns the team an automatic berth in the NCAA Women's Volleyball Championship.

Conference Carolinas is a NCAA Division II athletics conference made up of 12 teams from Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. These institutions consist of: Barton College, Belmont Abbey College, Converse College, Emmanuel College, Erskine College, King University, Lees-McRae College, Limestone College, University of Mount Olive, North Greenville University, Pfeiffer University, and Southern Wesleyan University. Emmanuel College is currently completing the NCAA Membership Process and will be fully competing in league championships in the near future.
