King's Johnson Named Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week
HIGH POINT, N.C. – King University guard Sheena Johnson has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Nov. 11-13, the Conference announced today.
A sophomore from Bristol, Tenn., Johnson paced the Tornado to a pair of wins over Tusculum and Mars Hill in the Conference Carolinas/South Atlantic Conference Challenge. In the two games Johnson averaged 19.5 points, three rebounds and shot 60 percent from the field, including 50 percent from three-point range.
In an 86-63 blowout of Tusculum, Johnson would drop 20 points on 8-for-11 shooting, with three treys on four attempts. A day later against Mars Hill, Johnson would tally 19 points and four rebounds in a 69-43 Tornado win.
Also nominated for Women's Basketball Player of the Week: Tatiana Manuel (Southern Wesleyan), Kristin Giles (Erskine) and Chrystal Ezechukwu (Belmont Abbey College).
