Two Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Players Named to Academic All-District Team
HIGH POINT, N.C. – Two Conference Carolinas women’s volleyball players were recognized as 2016 Academic All-District Women’s Volleyball Team selections by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday (Nov. 3) afternoon.
King University’s Cathy Scaniffe and Limestone College's Kylie Moyer were named to the NCAA Division II All-District Women’s Volleyball Team in District 3. The team is comprised of seven student-athletes from the three conferences that make up the Southeast region: Conference Carolinas, Peach Belt Conference and South Atlantic Conference.
Scaniffe, a sophomore, owns a 3.83 GPA while majoring in elementary education. She has 301 kills on the season for an average of 3.54 kills per set.
A junior social work major, Moyer has a 4.0 overall grade point average. She has amassed 122 kills on the season for a 1.42 kills per set average.
As first-team Academic All-District honorees, the duo has advanced to the Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America selections will be named Dec. 7.

Conference Carolinas is a NCAA Division II athletics conference made up of 12 teams from Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. These institutions consist of: Barton College, Belmont Abbey College, Converse College, Emmanuel College, Erskine College, King University, Lees-McRae College, Limestone College, University of Mount Olive, North Greenville University, Pfeiffer University, and Southern Wesleyan University. Emmanuel College is are currently completing the NCAA Membership Process and will be fully competing in league championships in the near future.
