Pfeiffer's Calhoun Named Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Player of the Week
HIGH POINT, N.C. – Pfeiffer University guard Josh Calhoun has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Nov. 28 - Dec. 4, the Conference announced today.
A junior hailing from Rockingham, N.C., Calhoun was the definition of efficiency for the Falcons, as he averaged 20.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.5 steals and two assists in just 19 minutes per game. Pfeiffer would go 2-0 on the week and top 100 points in each contest while winning by an average of 40 points.
In a 125-81 win over Mount Olive, Calhoun would only need 21 minutes to post 16 points on 4-for-8 shooting, four boards and three steals. In just 17 minutes against St. Andrews, Calhoun would tally 25 points on 8-for-13 shooting, grab seven boards, collect four steals and dish out three assists to lead Pfeiffer to a 131-95 victory.
Calhoun's 17 points per game ranks sixth in Conference Carolinas, while ranking first in points per 40 minutes (34.6) and total steals (17).
