Barton's Street and Corbett Named Conference Carolinas Men's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week
HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Barton College duo of Semaj Street and Russell Corbett have been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for meets held Nov. 28 - Dec. 4, the conference announced today.
Street, a senior from Fayetteville, N.C., posted a pair of NCAA provisional marks in two separate events at the JDL Collegiate Kick-Off Classic. He would finish third in the preliminary round of the 60 meter dash with a time of 6.90 seconds, which was an NCAA provisional mark, while notching fifth overall in the finals with a time of 6.94 seconds. In the 200 meter dash, Street would finish runner-up and post an NCAA provisional time of 22.11 seconds.
A freshman from Leland, N.C., Corbett broke Barton's oldest indoor school record when he made his college debut at the JDL Collegiate Kick-Off Classic. He would register a shot put of 14.09 meters, which broke Barton's former record of 13.58 meters set back in 2014. Corbett would finish 12th overall in the event.
