Pfeiffer's Jenkins Named Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Pfeiffer University forward De'Vonte Jenkins has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played from Feb. 8-14, the conference announced today.

A senior from Youngstown, Ohio, Jenkins had a big week for the Falcons to keep them in the tournament hunt. The forward averaged a monster double-double of 23.5 points and 13 rebounds while shooting 57.6 percent from the field to help Pfeiffer post a 2-0 week.

In a 71-68 win over Limestone, Jenkins shot 10-for-20 from the field and 5-for-6 from the charity stripe to score 25 points. He would add a career-high 17 boards to his point total to go along with three blocks. Jenkins followed up his career night with a 22-point, nine-rebound performance against Southern Wesleyan in a 91-82 victory.

Jenkins currently leads Conference Carolinas with seven rebounds per game, while rankings second in field goal percentage (58.3) and third in blocks (35).
