Limestone's Allen and King's Gill Named Conference Carolinas Baseball Players of the Week
HIGH POINT, N.C. – Limestone College's Chase Allen was selected the Conference Carolinas Baseball Player of the Week, while King University's Gus Gill was earned the Conference Carolinas Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played the third week of the season, the conference announced today.
Allen, a freshman third baseman from Sharpsburg, Ga., led the Saints to a four-game sweep of LIU Post over the weekend. He posted a .385 batting average with seven RBI, five runs and three extra base hits. His best game of the series was a 3-for-5 performance with a double and three RBI in a 12-11 fourth game win.
A junior from Kensington, Md., Gill earned his first career win as a Tornado with a 12-6 victory over Brevard. He tossed six innings and only surrendered one run on four hits while fanning five.
