Belmont Abbey's Kunkel Named Conference Carolinas Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Belmont Abbey College midfielder Erin Kunkel has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week for games played from Feb. 15-21, the conference announced today.

Kunkel, a junior from Zionsville, Ind., tallied seven points and led the Crusaders to a 1-1 record to open the season. The midfielder was efficient in a non-conference loss to Wingate, scoring twice on two shots and also dishing out two assists for four points. Kunkel would only need four shots to notch a hat-trick in a 10-5 victory over Tampa to end the week.

Kunkel leads Conference Carolinas in shot on goal percentage (100.0), while ranking fourth in overall shooting percentage (83.3)
