King's Sattz and Barton's Ward Named Conference Carolinas Baseball Players of the Week
HIGH POINT, N.C. – King University's Ryan Sattz was tabbed the Conference Carolinas Baseball Player of the Week, while Barton College's Dylan Ward was named the Conference Carolinas Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played the week of Feb. 15-21, the conference announced today.
A junior from Pickering, Ontario, Sattz led King to a 3-0 week with wins over Brevard and Charleston (W.V.). He batted .667 (6-for-9) with a double and homer to go along with six RBI. Sattz best performance came in a 9-8 game one win over Charleston (W.V.) when he went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI.
Ward, a sophomore from Laurinburg, N.C., picked up his second win of the season for the Bulldogs in a 10-0 win over Glenville State. He would scatter three hits in six innings of work and fan six batters while ushering one walk and giving up no runs.
