Pfeiffer's Crowder and Limestone's Weber Named Conference Carolinas Softball Players of the Week
HIGH POINT, N.C. – Pfeiffer University's Rachel Crowder was named the Conference Carolinas Softball Player of the Week, while Limestone College's Josie Weber was tabbed the Conference Carolinas Softball Pitcher of the Week for games played during the week of Feb. 15-21, the conference announced today.
Crowder, a junior from Burlington, N.C., batted .615 in eight games with seven extra base hits, including three home runs (two grand slams), and 14 RBI to lead the Falcons to a 5-3 record last week. Her best performance came in a 7-6 win over Charleston (W.V.), as she went 3-for-4 with a homer and four RBI.
A sophomore from Stanley, N.C., Weber would post a 3-1 record in four appearances last week for the Saints. She would toss 23.2 innings and tally 18 strikeouts while allowing eight runs, five earned, for a 1.48 ERA. Weber's best outing came against St. Andrews, as she threw a perfect game with seven Ks.
