Mount Olive's Farnsley and King's Johnson Named Conference Carolinas Women's Track & Field Athletes of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – University of Mount Olive’s Rebecca Farnsley and King University's Esther Johnson have been named the Conference Carolinas Women’s Track & Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, the conference announced today.

A sophomore from Peoria, Ariz., Farnsley posted a third-place finish in the 5000m run at the UCS Invitational with a time of 18:28.07, which ranked as the second fastest time in school history. She would also register the fourth fastest mark in UMO history in the 3000m run with a time of 10:49.66.

A freshman, Johnson finished eighth in the weight throw at the Appalachian State Split Open with a score of 13.03m. Her score would set a new personal record, shattering her old PR by nearly two meters.
