King Crowned Top Seed in 2016 Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Championship
HIGH POINT, N.C. – King University officially captured the 2016 Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball regular season title on Friday (Feb. 26) night. The Tornado earned the No. 1 seed in next week's Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Championship, it was determined today after finishing the season with a 17-3 conference mark.
Barton College wrapped up the No. 2 seed with its 13-7 Conference Carolinas record, while Lees-McRae College was seeded No. 3 after posting a 12-8 conference mark. University of Mount Olive captured the No. 4 seed with a 11-9 record in conference play. With a 10-10 Conference Carolinas mark Pfeiffer University secured the No. 5 seed, while Limestone College and Erskine College were tabbed the No. 6 and No. 7 seeds, respectively, with identical 9-11 records. Rounding out the bracket with the No. 8 seed is North Greenville University with its 7-13 Conference Carolinas record.
The 2016 Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Championship quarterfinals will be held at the campus of the higher seed on Tuesday, Mar. 1. The semifinals and finals will be played at the campus of the highest seed remaining after the quarterfinals on Mar. 5 and 6, respectively. The Conference Carolinas Tournament champion will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Tournament.
