Mount Olive's Johnson Named Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – University of Mount Olive center Arieal Johnson has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played from Feb. 22-28, the conference announced today.

A junior from Havelock, N.C., Johnson had a monster week for the Trojans, averaging 21.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 4.5 blocks to lead the team to a 2-0 week. Her play led the Trojans to the No. 2 seed in this week's Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Championship.

Johnson would score 18 points and pull down nine rebounds and turn away five shots in Mount Olive's 70-66 win over Barton. She would then post her 10th double-double of the season with 25 points and 10 boards as the Trojans narrowly defeated Erskine 65-63. Johnson would add four blocks and three assists to her box score.

Johnson ranks first in Conference Carolinas with 80 blocks, while ranking second in the league with 10.2 rebounds per game.
