Belmont Abbey's Luca Named Conference Carolinas Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Belmont Abbey College attack Rebecca Luca has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week for games played from Feb. 22-28, the conference announced today.

A sophomore from Massapequa, N.Y., Luca led the Crusaders to a 1-1 week after posting 12 points on 11 goals and an assist. In a narrow 12-11 non-conference loss to Catawba she would tally six points after finding the back of the net five times and dishing out a helper. In a 14-6 win over Findlay, Luca would score six times on seven shots.

Luca ranks second in Conference Carolinas in goals (16), while ranking sixth in points (18).

Also nominated for Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week: Molly O'Friel (Mount Olive) and Alanna Carvallo (Erskine)
