Belmont Abbey's Delaney Named Conference Carolinas Men's Tennis Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Belmont Abbey College's James Delaney was named Conference Carolinas Men's Tennis Player of the Week for matches played the week of Mar. 14-20, the conference announced today.

A sophomore from Kent, England, Delaney posted a 4-0 combined singles and doubles record  to lead the Crusaders to a 1-1 week. Against Southern Wesleyan, Delaney would notch an 8-3 No. 1 doubles win with partner Juan Baez, while capping the day with a hard-fought 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles. Delaney would team with Baez again against Erskine and pickup another 8-3 No. 1 doubles win over the Flying Fleet. In singles play, Delaney would earn a 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 win at the No. 2 flight to close out the week undefeated.
