King's Sattz and Erskine's Calvert Named Conference Carolinas Baseball Players of the Week
HIGH POINT, N.C. – King University's Ryan Sattz was named as the Conference Carolinas Baseball Player of the Week, while Erskine College's Alex Calvert garnered Conference Carolinas Baseball Pitcher of the Week honors for games played the week of Mar. 21-27, the conference announced today.
A junior from Pickering, Ontario, Sattz led King to a 2-2 record behind his 11 hits (2 HRs) for a .733 average and five RBI. The highlight of his week was a 4-for-4 outing in a 9-4 win over Limestone, as he knocked in three RBI and belted a homer.
Calvert, a freshman from La Plata, Md., had an impressive day for the Flying Fleet, going the distance in a 1-0 win over Mount Olive. He would scatter five hits and issue four walks, but strike out eight to secure the win for Erskine.
