Erskine's Michelau Named Conference Carolinas Men's Volleyball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Erskine College outside hitter Mike Michelau has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played from Feb. 29 - Mar. 6, the conference announced today.

A senior from Trevor, Wis., Michelau had a stellar week for the Flying Fleet, leading it to a 3-1 week after posting 95 kills for a 5.94 kills per set average. He would also hit .410 for the week and add 15 digs, nine blocks and four aces.

He would get the week started with a 21-kill performance in a 3-0 win over King, which he would follow up with a 28-kill outing in a hard-fought 3-2 loss to Barton. To close the week, Michelau would post two 20-kill matches at the Coker College Invitational Tournament. In match one against Alderson Broaddus, Michelau would knock home 21 kills in a 3-1 win. Against Coker, he would put away 25 kills to lead Erskine to a 3-1 win.

Michelau ranks second in Conference Carolinas with a 4.57 kills per set average, while his 224 kills are good enough for third in the conference. This is his second Conference Carolinas player of the week award this season.
