Erskine's Gullino Named Conference Carolinas Women's Tennis Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Erskine College's Paola Gullino was named Conference Carolinas Women's Tennis Player of the Week for matches played from Feb. 29 - Mar. 6, the conference announced today.

Gullino, a freshman from Sanremo, Italy, posted a 6-0 combined record in singles and doubles play to lead the Fleet to a 3-0 record last week. Her week would begin with an 8-4 No. 1 doubles win over Newberry, which she would follow with a 6-4, 6-2 singles win at the No. 2 flight. Against Converse, she would notch an easy 6-0, 6-0 straight-set victory at No. 2 singles and an 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles. Closing the week out against Limestone, Gullino would pick up another 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles. Her best performance of the week would be a 6-0, 6-2 No. 2 singles win against reigning Conference Carolinas Player of the Year, Alexandra Boulbin of Limestone.

This is Gullino's second Conference Carolinas Player of the Week award.
