Pfeiffer's Scudder and Barton's Ward Named Conference Carolinas Baseball Players of the Week
HIGH POINT, N.C. – Pfeiffer University's Zach Scudder was named the Conference Carolinas Baseball Player of the Week, while Barton College's Dylan Ward picked up Conference Carolinas Baseball Pitcher of the Week honors for games played the week of Apr. 4-10, the conference announced today.
A junior from Belews Creek, N.C., Scudder was the offensive catalyst behind the Falcons going 3-0 against Southern Wesleyan. He would collect six hits, including a double and three homers, for a .667 average and nine RBI. Scudder's top performance came in a 20-3 win over the Warriors, going 2-for-3 with two long balls, five RBI and three runs scored.
Ward, a sophomore from Laurinburg, N.C., led the Bulldogs to an 11-0 win over the No. 15 Belmont Abbey College Crusaders. He would scatter four hits in seven innings of shutout work and fan eight batters.
