Belmont Abbey's Melvin and Limestone's Livingston Named Conference Carolinas Men's Track & Field Athletes of the Week
HIGH POINT, N.C. – Belmont Abbey College's Zach Melvin and Limestone College's Mark Livingston have been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, the conference announced today.
Melvin, a senior from Rocky Mount, N.C., picked up a first-place finish in the 3000m steeplechase over the weekend as the Crusaders participated in the Johnson C. Smith University Invitational. He would post a time of 10:49.55 to capture the title.
A freshman from Easley, S.C., Livingston notched three top-two finishes for the Saints at the Susan Rouse Invitational. He would take the individual title in the hammer throw with a throw of 40.62m, which would set a new Limestone record. Linvingston would pick up two second-place finishes in the shot put and discus throw with scores of 13.43m and 41.06m, respectively.
