2015-16 Conference Carolinas Men's Golf All-Conference and Major Awards Announced

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Griffin Brown of Limestone College was named the 2016 Conference Carolinas Men's Golfer of the Year to headline the 2015-16 Conference Carolinas men's golf awards. North Greenville University's Seth Robertson was tabbed as the Freshman of the Year, while Limestone College's Zack Siefert was named the Conference Carolinas Men's Golf Coach of the Year, the conference announced tonight.

Hailing from Hollis, N.H., Brown put together a tremendous senior season with a pair of first-place finishes. Brown carded a season-best six-under par at the TVA Credit Union Invite before coming back to record a five-under par at the UNA Spring Classic. He helped guide the nationally ranked Saints to one tournament win and three top-five finishes. 

Robertson, a native of Inman, S.C., was tabbed the Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Year after notching one top-five finish and two top-10 finishes in nine tournaments this season. He shot a 69 for his lowest round of the season and turned in a 36-hole best of 142. Robertson's best finish of the season was second-place at the Richard Rendleman Invitational.

Limestone's Zack Siefert was named the 2015-16 Conference Carolinas Men's Golf Coach of the Year after guiding Limestone to one tournament win and three Top-five finishes during the 2015-16 season. The Saints, who have appeared in the NCAA South/Southeast Regional in each of the past two seasons, claimed the tournament crown at the TVA Credit Union Invite while posting fourth-place finishes at the Kiawah Island Invitational and the UNA Spring Classic.

Joining Brown on the first team was fellow Saint Matt Mullarkey, while University of Mount Olive's Nick Adams, Belmont Abbey College's Nick Stafford and North Greenville University's Christian Constance were also named first-team selections.

Conference Carolinas is a NCAA Division II athleticconference made up of 12 teams from Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. These institutions consist of: Barton College, Belmont Abbey College, Converse College, Emmanuel College, Erskine College, King University, Lees-McRae College, Limestone College, University of Mount OliveNorth Greenville University, Pfeiffer University, and Southern Wesleyan University. Emmanuel College and Southern Wesleyan University are currently completing the NCAA DII membership process and will be fully competing in league championships in the near future.
