Belmont Abbey's Rosenbaum and Erskine's Johnson Named Conference Carolinas Baseball Players of the Week
HIGH POINT, N.C. – Belmont Abbey College's Colin Rosenbaum was honored as the Conference Carolinas Baseball Player of the Week, while Erskine College's Joe Johnson nabbed Conference Carolinas Baseball Pitcher of the Week honors for games played the week of Apr. 11-17, the conference announced today.
Rosenbaum, a sophomore from Archdale, N.C., batted .524 with five extra base hits and six RBI to lead the nationally ranked Crusaders to a 2-2 record last week. His best game was a 7-for-7 outing with four doubles, one home run, six RBI and five runs scored in a 35-3 win over Brevard College.
A senior from Greenwood, S.C., Johnson helped the Flying Fleet take two games from the nationally ranked Belmont Abbey Crusaders, tallying a win and a save on the week. His best outing was a six-inning gem, allowing one run on five hits while fanning 10 batters.
