Mount Olive's Kitagawa and King's Farmen Named Conference Carolinas Men's Track & Field Athletes of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – University of Mount Olive's Akiharu Kitagawa and King University's Elijah Farmen have been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, the conference announced today.

A senior from Wilsonville, Ore., Kitagawa notched a 13th-place finish and set a personal best and NCAA provisional mark with his time of 30:30.93 in the 10,000m run at the Mt. SAC Relays.

Farmen, a freshman from Medical Lake, Wash., tallied two top-five finishes and set two personal records at the Benyon Sports Catamount Classic. He would place fourth in the javelin throw with a mark of 47.70m and then take fifth in the discus throw with a distance of 46.12m. His marks were also the best of any Division II competitor at the event.
