Limestone Wins 2016 Conference Carolinas Men's Golf Championship; Mount Olive's Thatch Named MOP
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Limestone College Saints took home the 2016 Conference Carolinas Men's Golf Championship on Tuesday (Apr. 19) afternoon. University of Mount Olive's John Thatch would garner the 2016 Conference Carolinas Men's Golf Medalist . The 2016 tournament was hosted by Belmont Abbey College at Bryan Park in Greensboro, N.C.

The Saints ran away with their second consecutive team title as they shot -6 over the three days, finishing 27 strokes ahead of second-place Belmont Abbey College.
Mount Olive's Thatch entered the final round of play sitting in fourth, but he would use some late-hole heroics to capture the 2016 individual title. He would win on the third sudden death playoff hole against Belmont Abbey's Nick Stafford.
Conference Carolinas is a NCAA Division II athletics conference made up of 12 teams from Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. These institutions consist of: Barton College, Belmont Abbey College, Converse College, Emmanuel College, Erskine College, King University, Lees-McRae College, Limestone College, University of Mount Olive, North Greenville University, Pfeiffer University, and Southern Wesleyan University. Emmanuel College and Southern Wesleyan University are currently completing the NCAA Membership Process and will be fully competing in league championships in the near future.
