Belmont Abbey's Delaney Named Conference Carolinas Men's Tennis Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Belmont Abbey College's James Delaney was named Conference Carolinas Men's Tennis Player of the Week for matches played the week of Apr. 18-24, the conference announced today.

Delaney, a sophomore from Kent, England, went a combined 4-0 last week, which included a 2-0 sweep of regular season champions Pfeiffer. Against Emmanuel, Delaney would pick up an 8-2 No. 1 doubles win and follow it up with a 6-0, 6-1 straight-set victory at No. 2 singles. He would conclude the week with a pair of wins at No. 1 doubles and No. 2 singles against Pfeiffer. In singles he would win with scores of 6-4, 1-6, 6-4 and doubles with a score of 8-7.

Also nominated for Men's Tennis Player of the Week: Nils Hoffacker (Pfeiffer), Sjors van Eck (North Greenville) and Lenny Keswani (King)
