Mount Olive's Munoz and Belmont Abbey's Thierfelder Named Conference Carolinas Men's Track & Field Athletes of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – University of Mount Olive's Michael Munoz and Belmont Abbey College's Joseph Thierfelder have been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, the conference announced today.

A senior from Whittier, Calif., Munoz finished seventh and set an NCAA provisional qualifying time in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 9:15.49 at the Colonial Relays hosted by the College of William & Mary. He would also finish 18th in the 10000m run with a time of 31:37.26.

Thierfelder, a senior from Gastonia, N.C., placed 11th in the high jump with a leap of 1.79m for the Crusaders at the VertKlasse Meeting hosted by High Point University.
