Seven Conference Carolinas Players Named to IWLCA All-Region Teams
GRAND LAKE, CO. - Conference Carolinas was represented by seven women's lacrosse players from three different institutions on the 2016 Division II South All-Region team, the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) announced Friday.
Limestone College would place five players on the all-region team, while University of Mount Olive and Belmont Abbey added one each.
Headlining the group for Limestone was first team selection, Jessica Riggall, while Taylor Cline and Shannon Sisk were named second team selections. Rounding out the Saints were Rose Blackburn and Carleigh Davis on the third team.
Conference Carolinas Offensive Player of the Year Claire Wigler earned second team honors for the Trojans, while Conference Carolinas Defensive Player of the Year Kassie Easter was named a third team honoree.
These student-athletes are now eligible for inclusion on the IWLCA All-America teams, which will be announced on Wednesday, May 18. See full IWLCA release here
