Belmont Abbey and Mount Olive Earn Bids to 2016 NCAA Division II Baseball Championship

HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Belmont Abbey College Crusaders and University of Mount Olive Trojans each earned a bid to the 2016 NCAA Baseball Championship, the NCAA announced Sunday evening.
The Crusaders received the No. 3 seed in the Southeast Regional as an at-large selection after posting a 38-14-1 record during the regular season. The Trojans garnered the No. 7 seed as an automatic qualifier after winning the 2016 Conference Carolinas Baseball Championship.
Mount Olive (30-19) will play No. 2 Seed Lander in Game No. 2 and Belmont Abbey will play No. 6 seed Catawba in Game No. 3 of the Southeast Regional, hosted by Columbus St., on Thursday, May 19 at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., respectively, in Columbus, Ga.
