Conference Carolinas Women's Golf First Round NCAA Super Regional Recap

PENSACOLA, FLA. – Krysta Schaus of Erskine College led the way for Conference Carolinas during the opening round of the NCAA Division II Women's Golf South Super Regional on Monday. The reigning Conference Carolinas Women's Golfer of the Year shot a 75, which landed her in a tie for 10th after 18 holes.

The Limestone College women sit in a three-way tie for ninth-place after shooting a 311 on the day. Pacing the Saints was Hannah Luckett, who ended the day tied in 19th-place with a score of 76. Reme Cortes and Taylor McInnis each finished tied in 35th-place with a 78, while Sydney Landreth and Noelia Cortez both shot a 79 to finish tied for 48th.

University of Mount Olive's Julie Loennechen ended the first round tied for 35th after shooting a 78.

Players will return to the links tomorrow for round two action with Limestone's first player teeing off at 9:20 a.m., while Schaus and Loennechen will both tee off at 10:10 a.m.

Conference Carolinas is a NCAA Division II athletics conference made up of 12 teams from Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. These institutions consist of: Barton College, Belmont Abbey College, Converse College, Emmanuel College, Erskine College, King University, Lees-McRae College, Limestone College, University of Mount Olive, North Greenville University, Pfeiffer University, and Southern Wesleyan University. Emmanuel College and Southern Wesleyan University are currently completing the NCAA Membership Process and will be fully competing in league championships in the near future.
