Conference Carolinas Men's Golf First Round NCAA South/Southeast Regional Recap

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, FLA. – Limestone College closed out the first round of the NCAA Division II Men's Golf South/Southeast Regional in a tie for third-place on Monday. The reigning Conference Carolinas Men's Golf champions shot a combined 291 and were led by Cabrick Waters' 70, which put him in a tie for seventh on the individual leaderboard.

Rounding out scores for the Saints was Griffin Brown (72) in 19th, Will Woodard (73) in 23rd, Matt Mullarkey (76) in 55th and Clayton Presant (78) in 70th-place.

North Greenville University would shoot a combined 306 and were led by Evan Gfeller's score of 74, which places him 29th. Christian Constance shot a 75 and sits in 38th, while Vijay Mishra sits in 70th after shooting a 78. Seth Robertson and Chase Fisher each shot a 79 to finish the opening round in a tie for 79th.

Nick Adams of University of Mount Olive finished the first round in a tie for 55th after shooting a 76.

Players will return to the links tomorrow for round two action with North Greenville and Limestone will teeing off at 7:30 a.m., Nick Adams is set for an 8:20 a.m. tee time.

Conference Carolinas is a NCAA Division II athletics conference made up of 12 teams from Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. These institutions consist of: Barton College, Belmont Abbey College, Converse College, Emmanuel College, Erskine College, King University, Lees-McRae College, Limestone College, University of Mount Olive, North Greenville University, Pfeiffer University, and Southern Wesleyan University. Emmanuel College and Southern Wesleyan University are currently completing the NCAA Membership Process and will be fully competing in league championships in the near future.
