Two Conference Carolinas Student-Athletes Earn All-America Honors at Outdoor Track & Field Championships

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Four Conference Carolinas student-athletes competed in the 2016 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships last weekend at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.

Marquett Simmons, Jr. of Limestone College earned All-America honors in the 200M dash after finishing seventh with a time of 21.00 seconds. University of Mount Olive's Austin Steagall also earned All-America honors, after finishing the runner-up in the 3000M steeplechase with a time of 8:55.46 seconds.

Conference Carolinas is a NCAA Division II athletics conference made up of 12 teams from Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. These institutions consist of: Barton College, Belmont Abbey College, Converse College, Emmanuel College, Erskine College, King University, Lees-McRae College, Limestone College, University of Mount Olive, North Greenville University, Pfeiffer University, and Southern Wesleyan University. Emmanuel College and Southern Wesleyan University are currently completing the NCAA Membership Process and will be fully competing in league championships in the near future.
