Limestone's Kearse Named Conference Carolinas Female Athlete of the Year
HIGH POINT, N.C. - Limestone College's women's basketball player Jasmine Kearse has been named the Conference Carolinas Female Athlete of the Year for 2015-16, the Conference announced today. The award marks the second straight year a Limestone basketball player has won the award.
Kearse, a guard from St. Augustine, Fla., turned in one of the best seasons ever as a Saint during her junior campaign in 2015-16. She helped lead Limestone to a 30-1 overall record and the Conference Carolinas regular season championship and Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Championship.
Kearse averaged a conference best 21.6 points per game, while leading the league with 95 steals and finishing fifth with 110 assists. She reached double figures in points 30 out of 31 games, with 17 games of 20+ points. She would score 30 or more in four games and tied a program single-game record with 44 points in a win against Lees-McRae. Nationally, Kearse led NCAA Division II with 128 three-point field goals, while finishing ranked fourth with her 21.6 points per game average.

Conference Carolinas is a NCAA Division II athletics conference made up of 12 teams from Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. These institutions consist of: Barton College, Belmont Abbey College, Converse College, Emmanuel College, Erskine College, King University, Lees-McRae College, Limestone College, University of Mount Olive, North Greenville University, Pfeiffer University, and Southern Wesleyan University. Emmanuel College and Southern Wesleyan University are currently completing the NCAA Membership Process and will be fully competing in league championships in the near future.
