Limestone and Mount Olive Earns 2016 IWLCA/Zag Sports Academic Honor Awards

GRAND LAKE, COLO. – The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) and Zag Sports announced their 2016 Academic Honor Squads and Honor Roll last week.

Limestone College and University of Mount Olive represented Conference Carolinas on the Honor Squads list, while seven Saints and nine Trojans were named to the Honor Roll.

To qualify for the IWLCA/Zag Honor Squads, women's lacrosse teams must have posted a 3.0 or higher team GPA. To earn IWLCA/Zag Honor Roll, all student-athletes were nominated by their schools and have at least junior academic status and a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or greater.

Conference Carolinas is a NCAA Division II athletics conference made up of 12 teams from Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. These institutions consist of: Barton College, Belmont Abbey, Converse College, Emmanuel College, Erskine College, King University, Lees-Mcrae College, Limestone College, University of Mount Olive, North Greenville University, Pfeiffer University, and Southern Wesleyan. Emmanuel College are currently completing the NCAA Membership Process and will be fully competing in league championships in the near future.
