Barton's Kiptoo and Mount Olive's Craig Named Conference Carolinas Runners of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Barton College’s Sharon Kiptoo and University of Mount Olive's Adam Craig have been named the Conference Carolinas Women’s and Men’s Cross Country Runners of the Week, respectively, the conference announced today.

A junior from Eldoret, Kenya, Kiptoo earned a win at the Barton Cross Country Invitational over the weekend. She ran the 5K in a time of 20:22.66 and edged two-time All-Conference Carolinas selection Kylie Spencer of Pfeiffer by four seconds and defending champion Stephany Sislava of Louisburg by 12 seconds for the victory.

Craig, a junior hailing from Lauder, Scotland, paced the No. 19 Trojans to a win at the Furman Invitational after finishing second in the 8K race with a time of 24:41.12. His time was good enough for first among non-Division I runners and the fourth best 8K time in Mount Olive history.
