King's Scaniffe Named Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – King University outside hitter Cathy Scaniffe has been named Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played during the week of Sept. 12-18, the Conference announced today.

Scaniffe, a sophomore fron Lorton, Va., led the Tornado to a 3-0 week, which featured three Conference Carolinas wins. She would put away 50 kills for a 4.17 kills per set average and added 17 digs and eight service aces.

Scaniffe would post 15 kills in a 3-0 win over Belmont Abbey, but would follow that up with a monster double-double performance of 23 kills and 10 digs in a 3-2 victory over Limestone. The sophomore would close out the week with a 12-kill outing against Converse, which also saw her serve up six aces in the 3-1 win.

Scaniffe ranks third in Conference Carolinas in both kills per set average (3.40) and points per set (3.9), while ranking eight in total kills (102).
