Pfeiffer's Kelley Named Conference Carolinas Women's Soccer Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Pfeiffer University midfielder Kat Kelley has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Soccer Player of the Week for matches played Sept. 1-4, the Conference announced today.

Kelley, a junior from Matthews, N.C., was the offensive catalyst in the Falcons' season-opening 4-2 win over Francis Marion. After not tallying a point in her first 35 career matches, Kelley put up five points on two goals and an assist in the win. The junior would notch the game-tying goal in the 38th minue and then dish out an assist to give the Falcons a 2-1 lead at the half. The midfielder would score an insurance goal late in the second half to preserve the 4-2 win.

Kelley currently leads the conference in points (5), goals (2) and assists (1), while ranking second in shot percentage (.500).
