Limestone's Malone and King's Cook Named Conference Carolinas Runners of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Limestone College’s Allyson Malone and King University's Tanner Cook have been named the Conference Carolinas Women’s and Men’s Cross Country Runners of the Week, respectively, the conference announced today.

Malone, a sophomore from Athens, Ohio, finished 17th overall out of 98 runners at the Eye Opener Invitational hosted by Division I USC Upstate. Malone would only have runners from Clemson and Furman finish ahead of her, as she placed first among Division II participants with a 5K time of 19:12.89.

A native of Abingdon, Va., Cook turned in an impressive 11th-place finish at the USC Upstate Eye Opener Invitational. The senior would run the 8K event in 26:23.90, which placed him first among Division II runners and 30 seconds ahead of the next participant.
