Mount Olive's Johnson Named Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – University of Mount Olive outside hitter Britni Johnson has been named Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played during the week of Sept. 1-4, the Conference announced today.

Johnson, a native of Durham, N.C., led the Trojans to a 3-1 record, which marks the best start since the 2004 season. The junior posted 60 kills, 39 digs and 10 service aces on the weekend to go along with eight blocks.

On Sept. 2, Johnson posted 16 kills and seven digs in a 3-1 loss to Winston-Salem State and followed it up with a 21-kill, nine-dig performance in a 3-2 win over Kutztown. The following day the outside hitter would lead the Trojans to two wins over Slippery Rock and Chowan with a combined 23 kills and 23 digs in the two matches.

Johnson currently ranks first in Conference Carolinas in service aces (10), while ranking third in kills (60) and fourth in kills per set (3.33).
