King's Wheaton Named Conference Carolinas Men's Volleyball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.King University middle blocker Jon Wheaton has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Volleyball Player of the Week for games played from Jan. 9-15, the Conference announced today.

Wheaton, a sophomore from Lockport, Ill., paced King to a pair of 3-0 wins over Lincoln Memorial and Charleston (W.V.) to open the season. The middle averaged 2.33 kills per set and hit .400 to go along with 1.50 blocks per set.

Against Lincoln Memorial, Wheaton tallied four kills and two blocks. In the win over Charleston, Wheaton would have a monster match hitting .643 with 10 kills and seven total blocks.

Wheaton ranks third in Conference Carolinas with 1.50 blocks per set, while ranking fourth in both block assist (8) and total blocks (9).
