Limestone's Scott and Barton's Russell Named Conference Carolinas Men's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.Limestone College's Marshawn Scott and Barton College's Larry Russell have been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for meets held Jan. 16-22, the conference announced today.

Scott, a senior from North Myrtle Beach, S.C., booked himself a trip to the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships with his performance at the Wake Forest Invitational over the weekend. Scott won the 60 meter hurdles with an NCAA automatic qualifying time of 7.85 seconds, which was .01 seconds off of setting a new school record in the event.

A sophomore from Sicklerville, N.J., Russell posted a pair of top-three finishes for the Bulldogs at the Wake Forest Invitational over the weekend. Russell placed first in the high jump with a jump of 2.10 meters, which easily broke his own indoor record. He would then break his own long jump record by placing third in the event with a leap of 7.33 meters.
