Mount Olive's Hanle and Hall Sweep USTFCCCA Division II National Athlete of the Week Honors
HIGH POINT, N.C. – The University of Mount Olive cross country teams both had impressive showings this past weekend at the Queen City Invitational in Charlotte, N.C. Their showings were so impressive, in fact, that Mount Olive walked away with their top runner on both sides claiming USTFCCCA NCAA Division II National Athlete of the Week honors.
Junior Jereamy Hall of Waldorf, Maryland, ran his way to a second-place finish individually as he paced his team to first place over a strong field that included five NCAA Division I programs.
Sophomore Leah Hanle of Lichtenstein, Germany, also recorded an impressive second-place finish and new school record (16:56) as she led the women to a second-place team finish overall. This is Hanle's second NAOTW honor this year.
Mount Olive's men's and women's cross country teams will see their next action this Friday, October 20th as they look to defend their respective conference titles at the 2017 Conference Carolinas Cross Country Championships.
