Limestone's Aguiar Named Conference Carolinas Women's Swimmer of the Week
HIGH POINT, N.C. – Limestone College's Gabriela Aguiar has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Swimmer of the Week for meets swam during the week of Oct. 23-29, the Conference announced today.
A freshman from Uberlandia, Brazil, Aguiar had a stellar week of competition for the Saints against Chowan and Gardner-Webb. She managed seven top-three finishes, which included five first-place wins.
Against Chowan, Aguiar would win the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:08.62, while also capturing the 100 freestyle in 54.30. Her third first-place finish would come in the 200 freestyle relay, which Limestone won with a time of 1:41.49. Closing out the Chowan meet, Aguiar would nab a second-place finish in the 50 freestyle with a time of 25.16.
In three events against Gardner-Webb, Aguiar would continue her dominance with a pair of first-place finishes in the 100 freestyle (53.57) and 200 freestyle relay (1:41.91). She led the Saints to a third-place finish in the 400 medley relay with a time of 4:12.27.
