Limestone's Season Ends in First Round of 2017 NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championship
HIGH POINT, N.C. – Limestone College's season came to a close in the first round of the 2017 NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championship Friday (Nov. 10) afternoon.
The Saints (17-3-1) received the No. 6 seed in the Southeast Region as an automatic qualifier and played No. 3 seed Flagler who was an at-large selection from the Peach Belt.
The match would be a 0-0 draw after the first 45 minutes of play. However, the Saints of Flagler would net three goals in the second half to earn a 3-0 victory over the Saints of Limestone. Offensively, Limestone was led by Millie Shaw with four shots, two of which were on goal. Defensively, Veronica Smeltzer recorded nine saves.
