Mount Olive Men and Women's Cross Country Teams to Represent Conference Carolinas at NCAA Championships

HIGH POINT, N.C. – The University of Mount Olive men and women's teams both punch their tickets to the NCAA Division II Cross Country National Championships on Saturday after receiving automatic qualifications. The DII National Championships will be held Nov. 18, 2017 at Angel Mounds in Evansville, Ind.

 
MEN'S RACE
 
The No. 5 nationally ranked Trojans won the men's 10k event for the third straight year. The win advances them to the NCAA Division II National Championships for the seventh consecutive year.

WOMEN'S RACE
 
Mount Olive sophomore Leah Hanle repeated as Southeast Regional champion with a race time of 21:15.43, while the No. 21 Trojans placed third as a team in the women's 6k race. The third-place finish automatically qualifys the team for the NCAA Division II National Championships.
