Belmont Abbey's Lane Named Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Belmont Abbey College forward Deion Lane has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Feb. 6-12, the Conference announced today. This marks LeVeau's second Conference POTW and third for King.

A junior from Charlotte, N.C., Lane paced the Crusaders to a 2-0 week in Conference Carolinas action by shooting 73.7 percent from the field and averaging 22.5 points and seven rebounds per game.

Lane would shoot 66.7 percent from the field and score 16 points to go along with seven boards in a 76-62 victory over Mount Olive. His encore would come against North Greenville and it would be a career night. Lane would pour in 29 points on 8-for-10 shooting (4-for-4 from three), while going 9-for-9 from the charity stripe. He would also grab seven rebounds and block two shots.

Lane sports a 16.3 points per game average and avergaes 6.6 rebounds. His points per game rank sixth in the league, while ranking 8th in both rebounds per game and in FG% (52.3%).
