Erskine's Davey and Carpin Named Conference Carolinas Baseball Players of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Erkine College's Chaz Davey was named the Conference Carolinas Baseball Player of the Week, while teammate Michael Carpin was crowned the Conference Carolinas Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played Feb. 6-12, the Conference announced today.

A sophomore from North Augusta, S.C., Davey had an extraordinary week at the plate for the Fleet. The third baseman batted .533 with eight hits, with six being home runs, batted in nine RBI, scored 10 runs and notched 26 total bases. Davey's posted two hits in each of his four games last week, with his two hits in each game of the three-game series against Salem International being home runs.

Carpin, a junior from Mount Pleasant, S.C., continued his dominance on the mound for the Fleet. He threw six innings of work, surrendering two unearned runs on four hits and punching out eight batters in an 11-2 win.
