Mount Olive's Yasalonis Named Conference Carolinas Men's Volleyball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.University of Mount Olive setter Jeff Yasalonis has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played from Feb. 13-19, the Conference announced today.

A senior from Yardley, Pa., Yasalonis was the driving force behind Mount Olive picking up two league wins to stay undefeated in the Conference Carolinas standings. He notched one double-double and averaged 10.38 assists and 1.88 digs per set on the week.

In a first-place showdown between King, Yasalonis would lead the Trojans to a 3-2 come-from-behind win, as he record a season-high 56 helpers and Mount Olive hit .324 for the match. He would then turn around and post a double-double with 27 assists and 10 digs to lead the Trojans to a 3-0 sweep of Lees-McRae.

Yasalonis has registered 340 helpers on the year and is averaging 9.44 assists per set. His assists per set rank fifth in the league and his total assists ranks sixth.
