Limestone Captures Top Seed in 2017 Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Championship
HIGH POINT, N.C. – Limestone College captured the 2017 Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball regular season title officially on Friday (Feb. 24) night. The Saints will sport the No. 1 seed in next week's Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Championship, it was determined tonight after the conclusion of the season. Limestone finished the season 21-1 in Conference Carolinas action.
King University wrapped up the season 19-3 and enter the championship as the No. 2 seed, while University of Mount Olive will be the No. 3 seed after finishing the season 18-4. Barton College earned the No. 4 seed and a home game with its 14-8 record.
Hitting the road for the quarterfinals will be No. 5 seed North Greenville University (11-11), No. 6 seed Erskine College (10-12), No. 7 seed Belmont Abbey College (9-13) and No. 8 seed Pfeiffer University (6-16).
The 2017 Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Championship quarterfinals will be held on the campus of the higher seed on Monday, Feb. 27. The semifinals and finals will be played on the campus of the highest seed remaining after the quarterfinals on Mar. 2 and 3, respectively. The Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Championship champion will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Championship.
